We like the Miele S4212 Neptune Canister because it's light and easy to maneuver, it has incredible suction power and it is very quiet. The Miele S4212 also features a long power cord that allows you to clean a large area, without having to drag the vacuum along.

The HEPA filtration is optional and for those concerned with asthma or allergies this could mean some extra expenses. While the S4212 does an excellent job when it comes to low to medium pile carpet, it is rather difficult (but not impossible) to clean high pile carpet such as shag
